Product Details

Florida withdrew from the Union in 1861 and created a new state seal at the time. It made modifications to the seal in 1970. The Governor at the time felt that the flag looked too white and resembled the flag of surrender so the red cross of St. Andrew was added. The law of Florida states the most current state seal must grace the flag and must be one-half the hoist and occupy the center of a white ground.
